Hello everyone,
I’m Ishaan Kunwar, the person behind the Youth for Elders Foundation. My journey into founding this organization started with a simple observation that became a calling. As someone deeply immersed in the world of STEM, I’ve always been fascinated by solutions and innovations. However, the interactions between the silent wisdom of the elderly and the curious energy of the young truly captured my heart.
The story behind our foundation is one of realization and action. It began during the quiet days of the pandemic when I walked through our neighborhood with my mom. We noticed a common thread of loneliness among the elderly, a void that seemed to grow wider with each passing day. At the same time, I saw my peers bursting with potential but often disconnected from the rich tapestry of experience and stories our elders hold. That's when it clicked for me—why not bring these two worlds together?
The Youth for Elders Foundation's vision is simple yet profound: to bridge the gap between generations, facilitating a flow of wisdom, energy, and joy in both directions. We believe in creating a community where everyone, regardless of age, feels valued, heard, and connected. Our initiatives, from tech workshops for elders to intergenerational storytelling sessions, are designed to foster understanding, respect, and mutual learning.
